Hi, my name is Hood. I'm a committed student and I'm most interested in computer science (with a focus on cybersecurity), mathematics, and writing. Over the summer, I participated in the Weston Science Scholars program, studying Marine Biology and trying to learn how to stop invasive species. Due to my passion for these subjects, I'm able to provide guidance and make difficult concepts more enjoyable to learn. I've been described as patient and approachable, and I really try to discover a student's unique learning preferences so I can bring out their best. When I'm not in class, you can find me at practice with the high school rowing team or getting in my reps at the YMCA. I also love listening to music, playing chess, and doing my best to give back to the community.

Hey there, I’m Jake. My favorite subjects are history, science and math. I’ve recently become obsessed with statistics and sports analytics after a summer program at Wharton and I've created an MHS club for people who share this interest. I love a good challenge. Whether it’s AP Physics, climbing the Rockies or crushing my competition in Fifa, I'm up for it. I’ve been tutoring for 4 years now and love to help others learn strategies to succeed. I’m easygoing and patient and know how to make one-on-one tutoring seem like a fun activity rather than a chore for younger students. I am a sports fanatic and a die-hard Giants fan, but I’m still willing to tutor fans of all teams except the Cowboys (just kidding). In my free time, I love to hang out with friends, play tennis, box, ski, hike, work out, listen to music and watch stand up comedy.

Hello, I'm Preston. I thoroughly enjoy history and math and have been tutoring peers and younger students for several years. I also work with children at Kumon and as a counselor at Willow Lake Day Camp. I try to foster a positive, fun and comfortable learning environment for kids who may be struggling and encourage students to ask questions, as I believe the people who ask the most will learn the most. I'm an avid soccer fan and enjoy playing as well. I’m a hardcore Manchester City supporter and closer to home I help manage the Montclair High School soccer team. I'm also a member of Montclair High School’s Black Student Union. In my free time, I enjoy sports, video games, skiing, music, cooking, riddles, superheroes, movies, tv shows and most of all, hanging out with friends.

Hi! My name is Ben. My favorite subjects at school are history, particularly geography, and economics. I’m a big aviation geek and love to talk about it with others who share my interest. I really enjoy working with younger kids and have been doing it both as a math tutor and tennis coach for several years. I would describe myself as a relaxed person and I always make sure students feel comfortable to ask questions while I’m helping them learn the material at hand. I try to get students dialed in on work when they need to focus, but aim to keep our sessions stress-free.  I’m a huge video game fan, with my favorites being Overwatch and Black Ops. I’m also a big sports fan, (Go Jets!)  and I love to talk about sports with anyone. I’m looking forward to working with students who may need some extra support with their school work or help in organizing and managing their work load.

Hey, I’m Julian. I’m an accomplished student with a strength in math, science, and English. My main interests are neuroscience and chemistry.  In the summertime, I have participated in the Weston Science Scholars program as well as a program at Stevens University, both of which focused on brain activity. Having been at MHS and experienced many of its classes, one of the most important things that I’ve learned is that school isn’t always about the grade, but more about the learning process. I really try to instill that in the kids that I tutor and encourage them to learn for a better understanding of the material. I love to converse with the students I work with and get to know them. I try to keep it all stress free unless of course the Yankees are losing! Some of my other interests are sports, music, exercise, cooking, and most importantly, I love to have a good time!

My name is Moe and I’m currently a junior at Montclair High School. My favorite subjects are Math and English. I love basketball and enjoy it in all forms, playing with friends, watching it at any level or even studying NBA and NCAA stats. In the rest of my free time, I like listening to music, baking, hanging out with friends, and watching shows or movies. Working with kids has also always been a true interest of mine, whether it’s at my sleep away camp, Hebrew school, babysitting, or tutoring. I would love to tutor more kids and help anyone who needs it. I’m comfortable at adapting to different personality types and find the best strategies that work for each. I’m patient with kids, willing to help those students who are struggling as well as more advanced students who are looking to excel.
